New Year, New Start.

Hello all.

In about an hour we will be diving into year 2014. To begin 2014, I decided to get serious about blogging. I have a friend who really inspires me when he writes his blog and it always makes me want to blog, but I never have put the effort into making one. So, here it goes.

First off, I just want to reminisce. 2013 has been a pretty special year. I transferred to Brigham Young University, started a new major, and started working at the MTC, a place where I train new missionaries to preach and teach in the Russian language. All this was possible because I pushed myself to new limits and relied on God.

I wrote a song these past two months called "God Answers Prayers." You can listen to it here. It is an attempt to portray all the blessings that I have received this past year.

I am excited to see what this new year brings. I am shooting to get into the advertising program. I also want to focus on writing more songs and performing them more. I want to have better study habits. I also want to have fun. I want to take life as it comes and enjoy the people around me. I hope to make a difference.

To a new year.

purevolume

The first website that I am going to talk about is called purevolume. It is a website where one can become an "artist" and post their tracks. I made a purevolume account back in high school but I still am using it. It is an easy way to show your friends and family some of the songs you have composed. Because I talked about my jingle that I wrote in my last blog, I have put my jingles on purevolume for any one to listen to. You can click here to listen to those songs and find out a little bit about me and my music. I put three different versions up and would be interested to hear what people think of each one and which one they prefer. If you listen, please comment and let me know what you think!

I am still working on getting my song Lost Boys written on Sibelius and as soon as I get that finished, I will let you know. Until then, enjoy listening to my jingles!

I WANT TO BE HEARD

I am on a quest. I am a musician. I have created music since I was able to read and write. I am now in college and my goal is to get my music to the public. It is always easy to compose a song but it is hard to actually get the stuff recorded and out there. The purpose of this blog is to talk about the process of being heard and discussing what works and what doesn't. I will try to post my music on here as well as give links to the different ways I have tried to get my music out there. If you have any ideas for me to try, let me know.

So, where am I thus far?

I recently finished at Snow College, a two year college that has a great music program. I was given many recording opportunities which has helped me see and understand what I need to have in order to get my music out there. But, I don't have sufficient money so this will be a slow process of getting everything I need to be successful.

My last semester of Snow College, I created a jingle for a chiropractic company called Skyline Family Chiropractic. It was an idea I had and my piano teacher supported me in writing it. It was a first jingle and it sure was hard to get it to how I wanted it. I received fifty dollars for it. I don't know if they will end up using it, but it will be great for my advertising portfolio. Anyways the reason I say this is because I used that fifty dollars to by a program called Sibelius which is a song writing program that cost $100. I also used a fifty dollar gift card from Best Buy from a friend which allowed me to get this program. So, I have already started using it and I am currently writing a song called "Lost Boys" which I will hopefully put up soon.

My goal is to use my musical talents to get money to pay for these programs so that I can continue to pursue my musical dreams.
I hope this blog will be interesting and worth reading and I hope to assist anyone who is trying to get their music out there as well.

May we all be heard,

CHRISTOPH
